Office: PAS 2414
My research interests are: Post Second World War Canadian economic, financial and political history; the development of Canadian overseas development policy, 1945-84; the history of the International Development Research Centre.
At present, I am writing a commissioned history of the International Development Research Centre. This is a three-year program of research of writing. As well, I am writing a history of the development of Canadian overseas development assistance policy from 1945 to about 1984, funded with a three-year standard research grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
I am also working on a project, “Reassessing Canadian aid to China in light of China’s economic expansion,” that is supported by the Asia-Pacific Foundation. Finally, I continue to work on topics associated with my “traditional” interest, the development of Canadian foreign economic policy in the 1960s through to the 1980s.
