Thesis Topic: Nuclear weapons, civil defence planning and Cold War culture in 1970s-1980s Britain.
My dissertation looks to situate itself within the larger historiography of British decolonization and economic decline by tracing post-war commitments to nuclear deterrence over survivability to the ineffectual anti-nuclear survival programs of the 1980s and their resulting cultural reverberations.
