I am a late medieval social historian of crime and gender. I work on Provence in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries to see how people manoeuvred, interacted, and strategized. My interest is in the lower ranks of society, as opposed to elites. My book, Curia: a Social History of a Court, Crime, and Conflict in a Late Medieval Town, will appear through the University of Toronto Press.
